A dicembre persi 101mila occupati: il bilancio a distanza di un anno torna a -444mila unità


Dopo i segnali negativi di commercio al dettaglio e produzione industriale, l'economia italiana registra un'altra battuta d'arresto nel mercato del lavoro. Istat ha comunicato che a dicembre 2020 il numero degli occupati è tornato a scendere, con un contestuale incremento di disoccupati e inattivi. Il tasso di occupazione in Italia è infatti sceso rispetto a novembre dello 0,4%, ovvero di 101mila unità. Una diminuzione che coinvolge tutte le fasce e categorie della popolazione, fatta eccezione per gli ultracinquantenni. Tra i maschi si registrano 2mila occupati in meno, tra le donne i restanti 99mila. Nella fascia tra i 15 e i 24 anni sono 36mila le unità perse, tra i 25 e i 34 anni 19mila, tra i 35 e i 49 anni 74mila mentre a sollevare il bilancio finale, come anticipato, ci pensano gli over 50 con un +28mila negli occupati rispetto a novembre 2020. Con la caduta del mese di dicembre il mercato del lavoro italiano si vede eroso il recupero registrato nell'ultima parte dell'anno, ora ridotto a +53mila unità nel quarto trimestre. Il dato tendenziale, che confronta dicembre 2020 con dicembre 2019, registra ancora un drammatico -444mila negli occupati. Alla riduzione degli occupati è corrisposto un aumento dei disoccupati e degli inattivi. Il numero delle persone attivamente in cerca di un lavoro è cresciuto di 34mila unità nel mese di dicembre, cristallizzando a -137mila unità il risultato del quarto trimestre e a -222mila quello da inizio anno. Gli inattivi sono 13,76 milioni, con un incremento di 42mila unità a dicembre e un +17mila unità nell'ultimo trimestre. Rispetto a dicembre 2019 il numero degli inattivi risulta essere ancora più alto di 482mila unità (quasi mezzo milione). La caduta degli occupati si è concentrata in gran parte negli indipendenti. Se infatti sono 23mila i dipendenti che mancano all'appello nel mese di dicembre 2020, sono ben 79mila gli indipendenti in meno in un solo mese. Quest'ultimi rispetto a dicembre 2019 registrano un -209mila nelle unità (-4%), che corrisponde a poco meno della metà del saldo negativo totale degli occupati (-444mila unità). Osservando il grafico riportato in "figura 1" mostra chiaramente come il numero degli occupati sia passato dagli oltre 23,4 milioni di metà 2019 a poco più di 22,7 milioni nel secondo semestre del 2020. Il mercato del lavoro rialza quindi la testa nel terzo trimestre, portando infine a novembre in recupero sino a quasi 23 milioni di occupati. Il mese di dicembre ha invertito la tendenza, lasciando intendere che il recupero del mercato del lavoro ma anche dell'economia italiana sarà più lungo e tortuoso del previsto. Di seguito il commento dell'Istat alla pubblicazione: "A dicembre l'occupazione torna a diminuire, interrompendo il trend positivo che tra luglio e novembre aveva portato ad un recupero di 220 mila occupati; il calo occupazionale è concentrato sulle donne e coinvolge sia i dipendenti sia gli autonomi. Inversione di tendenza anche per la disoccupazione che, dopo quattro mesi di progressivo calo, torna a crescere portando il tasso al 9%. I livelli di occupazione e disoccupazione sono inferiori a quelli di febbraio 2020 - rispettivamente di oltre 420 mila e di quasi 150 mila unità - e l'inattività risulta superiore di oltre 400 mila unità. Rispetto a febbraio 2020, il tasso di occupazione è più basso di 0,9 punti percentuali e quello di disoccupazione di 0,4 punti".
