Inquinamento indoor: l'aria nella mia casa è inquinata?


Nel 2014, l'ANSES (Agenzia nazionale francese per la sicurezza alimentare, l'ambiente e il lavoro) ha stimato che il numero di decessi prematuri causati dai più noti inquinanti dell'aria interna era di quasi 20.000 all'anno. L'aria che respiriamo all'interno delle nostre case potrebbe essere di qualità inferiore a quella che respiriamo all'esterno. La colpa di alcuni inquinanti specifici che provengono dai materiali che utilizziamo per la costruzione, la decorazione o l'arredamento delle nostre case. Inoltre, responsabil alcune delle nostre attività: fumo, bricolage, pulizia, ecc. I principali inquinanti dell'aria interna Gli inquinanti chimici sono tra quelli presenti abbondantemente nell'aria che respiriamo a casa: monossido di carbonio (CO) rilasciato tra l'altro da apparecchiature difettose per il riscaldamento. Questo gas incolore e inodore è mortale ad alte concentrazioni; composti organici volatili (COV) - quali formaldeide, benzene o solventi organici - rilasciati da vernici, profumi o feltri. Alcuni sono cancerogeni; composti organici semi-volatili (COV) - come ftalati e bisfenoli - si trovano in biocidi o rivestimenti; fumo di sigaretta, pesticidi - insetticidi, ad esempio - ecc. Dobbiamo aggiungere a questi alcuni organismi viventi che si sviluppano nelle nostre case e che possono anche essere fonti di inquinamento. Le spore della muffa possono causare infezioni. E gli allergeni vengono regolarmente emessi da piante, insetti, acari o animali domestici. La polvere, da parte sua, può essere composta da vari contaminanti come polline o spore. Sospesi nell'aria, possono essere inalati dagli abitanti della casa, soprattutto durante determinate attività come il fai-da-te o la pulizia. Infine, un inquinante che può essere meno noto: il radon, un gas radioattivo naturale, incolore e inodore. Può accumularsi nelle case e ancora di più in cantine scarsamente ventilate. ..... Umidità, un inquinamento indiretto Per quanto riguarda l'umidità, se non è intrinsecamente considerata inquinante, può essere all'origine di un degrado della qualità dell'aria interna. Cucinare, asciugare i vestiti, doccia, riscaldamento ausiliario mobile e persino respirare: le fonti di umidità a casa sono numerose. Tuttavia, non è consigliabile vivere in un'abitazione troppo umida, perché l'umidità favorisce lo sviluppo di acari e muffe, ad esempio, ma anche il rilascio di COV attraverso il degrado delle colle sui mobili.
